Notes from our Music Director
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...well, it has been since September if you are a shopper like me. Seems like stores are putting out Christmas offerings earlier and earlier. There is one thing I never get tired of and that is Christmas/Holiday music. Medieval to contemporary, I love it all.

I'm really looking forward to directing the PRS session on Friday, December 18! I know it will be dark and even possibly rainy. I know you have had a long week of work and wouldn't it be grand to snuggle up with a nice Pinot and binge watch your favorite TV show? No!! Grab your recorder and come play some music with your friends.

I'll bring a smattering of selections in a variety of styles that will range from the Renaissance to the 20th century.  We will play holiday favorites and some Winter solstice gems. We will try out an arrangement of Holiday tunes by LaNue Davenport and a peaceful Japanese tale of a moon and a ruined castle.

It's my "most wonderful time of the year" and I do hope you will join me at Tabor Space on Friday. Bring your recorders, your viols, your soft-ish double reeds and we will play and sing together. If you have a holiday favorite, feel free to bring it a long...with copies for all, of course!

See you all come
Friday, December 18, 7 p.m., Muir Hall on the first floor! Bring a stand light if you need more light!
Play on!

Recorder Orchestra of Oregon Concert

With every note, the Recorder Orchestra of Oregon thrilled the audience and had them begging for more! Another triumphant concert presentation from the hard working, talented players of ROO. It was a pleasure and honor to stand before the orchestra as we played some holiday favorites with a little Mozart and Elgar thrown in for good measure. Congratulations to all.

However, we rest not on our laurels. We have a super concert lined up for the Spring, April 23rd to be exact. "From Josquin to Jazz" or "Bach to Broadway", we haven't decided yet on a catchy tag line but the music will be fun, fast and furious .

Rehearsals begin again on Monday, January 11, 2016. If you are interested in joining this merry band of recorder players, please contact me and we can arrange an audition. As Tony Bodet said, "We'll leave the light on for you" or for us: "We'll save a chair for you!"
