GI Film Festival brings together old friends
We were invited to attend a special film screening and reception at the Canadian Embassy last week. The event was part of the GI Film Festival and it honored International Warriors. This special guests for this year's event happened to be good friends of ours that we haven't seen in a few years. Television personality (Wheel of Fortune host) Pat Sajak and his lovely wife Lesly attended the night's celebrations. As some know, Pat once served in the Navy and is very supported of our men and women in the military. Despite losing electrical power earlier in the day (due to a building fire), we showered and dressed in the dark and we climbed down 11 floors of stairs in the dark just so we could see our friends that evening. Talk about an adventure.
