Speak Like a Leader

Using the right word in the right place.

"Bad" is an adjective. It describes a noun or a pronoun. "Badly" is an adverb. It describes a verb. Think of it as answering the question "how."

Week of July 3, 2012

When we are un-loving to one we are un-loving to all.

I remember reading this somewhere and not quite getting the meaning at the time. But this week, it popped back into my head with absolute clarity.

I was running late for a meeting - traffic was heavier than usual so I promptly set out to make up for lost time by shifting into high gear.

By that I mean dodging, weaving, yelling at the drivers slowing me down and banging my hands against the steering wheel. Many of you know traffic is one of my weaknesses. And that's when it hit me, if I took all this negative energy into my meeting...I'd be better off rescheduling.

The Hulk

I realized that the unloving behavior I was exhibiting toward my fellow travelers would not stop the moment I walked into my meeting.

As I thought about the situation and others like it, the concept of sending our feelings out into the world in the same way a projector shines light resurfaced in my thinking.. Our light or our nature helps both ourselves and others see our way during difficult times and see joy during happier times. These must be shared with all to be shared with one.

Our nature is not something to be turned off and on like a light.

It is our essence, our true self. What we say and how we act can have a critical impact on the people, places and situations around us as we all move toward permanent and positive change.

Today, I love all, I am grateful for all and I am at peace.

Positive Thought for the Week...

Right Exercise

I do not and will not change my true nature based on people, places or situations.

I am filled with love and peace. Fear, anger and resentment have no place in my life.

mental Muscle

Thoughts and behaviors are like muscles -- they grow stronger when I exercise and focus on them. Sadly, that's true whether I focus on good thoughts and behaviors or bad.

I always focus on where I want to be and what I want to know. I keep my thoughts positive, especially when I am moving away from behaviors I want to stop..

What I focus on grows faster and stronger. I focus on the good.

Business Thought for the Week...
       Do You Use It

Do you use conflict as a competitive advantage?

Every organization has conflict, so the focus of training should be to create a simple and effective process to manage and resolve the conflict.

John Wooten

That will create an advantage over every competitor that doesn't have that process in place.

Stop worrying about conflict and start focusing on how to mitigate its damage and find a quick resolution.

Thanks Again,

We are getting ready to produce out first webinar using The Daily Six for Families in Recovery.

The date is set for August 1st @ 9:00 AM eastern time. If you are a Psychiatrist, Psychologist or work in a treatment center with family programs, this will be an excellent opportunity to see how this new, simple, secular program can restore families to their proper sense of balance and healthy function.

I am working on setting up my fall calendar. If you or your organization would like to have a program that will deliver "Permanent and Positive Change" then let's talk about developing something that will do just that.

I continue to write and research on life balance, best leadership practices and unique organizational strategy. If you read any of my articles or posts please let me know your thoughts. Your opinions are very helpful.

Thank you for all your continuing support and kind words.

Have a great week.

If no one has told you they love you today--- I do!

All the Best,
John
