July 11, 2017      Finger Lakes Connected
Did you ever notice when you shift your perspective to one of positivity, the world around you becomes sun shinier? Once you realize even the seemingly "bad" things that happen are happening to provide us with learning and growth, you become more accepting of random occurrences and start to "go with the flow", not expecting or becoming attached to a certain outcome. It is hard to describe, but just try to (every day) say out loud or write down one thing you're grateful for in your life. When you appreciate what you have, your life becomes abundant. And we certainly have a lot to be grateful for living in this beautiful area!
Blue Skies, Donna Bennett

In this warm-hearted and zany comedy, three southern sisters reunite under shaky circumstances:  Babe, the youngest, has shot her hotshot politico husband because  "she didn't like his looks."  The sisters navigate their very different personalities, dark family secrets, and their current troubles, which are grave and yet somehow hilarious.
    Pulitzer Prize winner.

Free Concert Series Kicks Off Wednesday. Sunset Serenades, Ferris Hills at West Lake's annual summer concert series, will kick off on Wed, July 12, with a performance by Paulsen, Baker & Friends. The six-week, Wednesday evening Sunset Serenade series is free and open to the public, with free parking available. Those who attend are strongly encouraged to bring lawn chairs because seating is limited. Each concert begins at 7 p.m. and - weather permitting - is held in the courtyard shared by the independent living community of Ferris Hills and its adjacent, enriched living community of Clark Meadows.

With guitar, banjo, fiddle, harmonica and mandolin, John Paulsen and Keith Baker have been performing together for more than 40 years and their "good time" music includes country, folk, rock and bluegrass, with a little comedy thrown in. The Ferris Hills campus is best accessed from the 3300 block of West Lake Road (County Road 16), via Peg Rayburn Drive. For more information about Ferris Hills, including a list of the remaining Sunset Serenades concerts,
