Finally catching up after our long weekend in Indianapolis. The weather was hot - but not as bad as they were predicting. We can think of one or two other recent 500s that were just as bad, if not worse.
Congratulations to everyone involved in what was one of the most exciting 500s on record, especially to Dario on his third win and to Bobby Rahal's RLL team for coming close to stealing it away.
It's always exciting when our customers are out in front.
It was great seeing all of you at Saturday's Memorabilia Show at IMS. It reminded me of the 'old days' when the show was downtown and the aisles were jammed with collectors. There were lots of great items available at reasonable prices throughout the show. We did well and I was able to fill a couple gaps in my personal collection. Hope to see everyone there again next year.
For at least 30 years, it has been a part of my 500 weekend ritual to pay a visit to the Speedway Museum. The place is always spectacular but the exhibits the past two years have been especially impressive. Last year, the Museum was filled with winning cars from previous 500s. This year, the entire Parnelli Jones collection was on display along with Craig Breedlove's 600mph 'Spirit of America - Sonic 1'. You didn't know where to go first! In addition to the photo of the SoA - Sonic 1 above, I've posted a small photo album to TMC's Facebook page.
Hope you'll pay a visit - both to the Museum and our Facebook page.
