Showering before swimming is one of the best ways to protect yourself and other swimmers from recreational water illnesses. Only 30% of us always shower before a swim. That means a lot more people need to spend a lot more time in those showers.

Showering after swimming will help reduce your risk of contracting infections and rashes, because showering with warm water and soap immediately after recreational water activities helps remove bacteria from your skin’s surface and your hair.

Not convinced? Remember, 30% of your friends probably didn’t rinse off before they went swimming. You can rinse off in the shower and leave their germs behind. Or, you can take them home with you on your skin and in your hair. The choice is yours.

All the Power Ranch pool showers are in working order, remember to use them and share the knowledge when you are at the pools.

Landscaping this week
Crews will dethatch over-seeded areas of turf beginning on June 19 to remove the old rye grass layer and help promote healthy new Bermuda grass as the summer temperatures continue to increase.

Turf conversions in three places in The Villages will begin. Crews will remove grass in hard to grow areas due to tree coverage, replacing granite in those areas.
Custom paint schemes
Beginning on July 15, 2017, Power Ranch will no longer be reviewing custom paint schemes. The Community Association has 110 schemes to choose from and will be adding some of the more requested custom schemes to the choices. The list of preapproved paint schemes will be reviewed and updated annually to assure that the community stays up-to-date and home values are maintained.  If you want to paint your home a custom scheme, it must be submitted by July 15, 2017.
