Power Outage in Tenleytown - DEAL

Deal Parents/Guardians/Neighbors:

A PEPCO transformer near Whole Foods went out of commission at around 7:20 this morning. At this point, Deal MS, Wilson, and a number of other buildings in the area are without power.

At this point there is no decision by DCPS whether to cancel the school day. We will, therefore, continue with our regular school day until such a decision is made. The impact will be slightly darker classrooms, reduced bathroom use, no water in water fountains, and no hot lunch. Our teachers will continue to work with students, we will have transitions at normal times, and our field trip will still be running.

As soon as I have some additional information or direction, I will share it through this manner as well as on Twitter. I will also email you if the power comes back on - as soon as it does.

If you prefer to keep your child at home, just let us know. If you decide to pick up your child, please come to the Welcome Center to do so. Thank you for your continued patience.
