Teacher Appreciation Week starts tomorrow

We've got some great things in place to celebrate our teachers this week:

Monday, May 8 - Words from the Heart - Thank you note, drawing, picture from students
Potluck Lunch for Staff - volunteer here
Tuesday, May 9 - Classroom Supply Day - bring in any needed supplies - Clorox wipes, post-its, thank you notes, etc. Your Room Parent may send more specifics.
Catered Lunch for Staff
Wednesday, May 10 - Specialty Surprise Days - each grade is assigned four Specialty Teachers/Staff - Day 1.

Thursday, May 11 - Specialty Surprise Days - each grade is assigned four Specialty Teachers/Staff - Day 2.

Friday, May 12 - My Favorite Things Day - Your Room Parent is collecting your classroom teacher's "My Favorite Things" list. Please refer to your Room Parent for details.

Retirement reception Tuesday

It's the end of the year, and that means retirement for a member of the Prairie Family. Join us in the library Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. for a retirement reception to wish Chris Sandreczki well in her next chapter!

Order them now here . OR, you can purchase them in the office all week. Tickets increase to $25 at the event.

And don't forget to purchase a few raffle tickets . . .

  • Raffle Tickets - Be sure to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to dunk Mrs. Jones! AND some surprise guests! Purchase here .
  • Cake Walk - Calling all bakers - we need cakes for the Cake Walk! Dust off your favorite recipe and bring your cake to the carnival.  Baked goods such as rice crispy treats, brownies, cookies are welcome as well!
We'll have Taco Republic Food Truck and French Market crepes - so be sure so bring cash!

As with every event, we need volunteers to help things run smoothly. We encourage you to work a shift if you can - check the sign-up here.

Order tickets for movie night

A new end of the year Prairie tradition...join us for our 2nd annual Outdoor Movie Night under the stars!

Bring your blankets and chairs and set up your spot in the back parking lot around 8:00 p.m., and the movie will start at 8:15 p.m..

Date: Friday, May 19
Movie: Sing!
Time: 8:15 - 10:00 p.m.
Price: $15 per student
(parents & kids under kindergarten FREE).

Join us for Chat 'N Chew

Want to fight in outer space, go to other dimensions, or invent new words? Then join our Chat N' Chew book club and discuss a book in each session while eating lunch and snacking on yummy treats!

The book club is divided by grade level, and your student is responsible for obtaining the book:
  • 3rd Grade - "Frindle"
  • 4th Grade - "Guinea Dog"
  • 5th Grade - "A Wrinkle in Time"
  • 6th Grade - "Ender's Game"

The second session will be the week of 5/15 - please read the book before then. At the end of each book club we raffle off a gift card to one lucky student per group!

Plant Sale pick-up Friday

Plants will be ready for pick-up Friday! If your ordered a Boston Fern or hanging flower basket be sure to pick them up at Prairie this Friday.

Field day was fun for all!
