Winter "Panther Paw" is here!

We had many creative artists and writers participate in our Winter Panther Paw!

Thank you to the students for bringing their ideas, to the parents who let the students stay after school to participate and to Christopher Smith and his 6th grade leadership team for providing the structure to get it all done!

Check out our Prairie Shutterfly page

With holiday parties happening this week, we want to remind you to post your photos on Prairie's private Shutterfly page . We will check photo releases of student's pictured and will select from these photos for the yearbook!

Father-Daughter Dance January 6

Get ready dads! The Father-Daughter Dance is January 6 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Join us for a night of fun at Prairie, including a DJ, photo booth, snacks and lots of dancing!

Tickets are $20 per person when you purchase in advance (cap at $60). Tickets will increase to $25 per person at the door.

If you didn't purchase the party at last year's auction you can order online here, drop off your payment in the office, or purchase tickets at the door.

One Book One School selection

This year we will be reading "Because of Winn-Dixie" by Kate DiCamillo for our One Book One School selection. This is a heartwarming story about a dog that helps a 10-year-old make friends.

Unfortunately, Scholastic was not able to get the book for us this year. Mrs. O'Neal is requesting copies from the district.  This would make a great stocking stuffer or a family activity over Winter Break.
We hope that you will enjoy reading! Stay tuned for additional information for our OBOS week, January 23-26.

Auction tickets for sale

The auction is Prairie's biggest fundraiser of the year and helps fund the school counselor, reading specialist and Spanish program. By purchasing your ticket, you are helping support these Prairie "extras."

Purchase your tickets today and join us for a night of fun Saturday, February 25 at the Vox Theater . It's quick and easy to purchase your tickets - just click here.

Grade level baskets for the auction
We can't have an auction without item donations! Each grade level contributes a themed basket for the auction. Here are the themes and contacts for each class:
  • K-Little Tot basket - Libby Pfeiffer
  • 1st-Star Wars - Jessica Perbeck
  • 2nd-Super Heroes - Kristen Anderson
  • 3rd- Legos Basket - Nicole Clifford
  • 4th-Tailgate Basket - Rachel LaHue
  • 5th- Family Game Night - Sarah McKee and Jill Sides
  • 6th- Adventure Basket - Merrit McShane

Please consider donating to your child's grade level basket. If you prefer not to shop, you can donate money toward purchasing basket items. No amount is too small or too big.

If you have any questions, please contact Shelley Bacon or Betsy Ordonez.
