Keeping Yourself Informed

You keep hearing how important the upcoming elections are to your child's education. But where do you find the information you need to inform your vote?
The   Shawnee Mission Area Council PTA  has provided us with helpful links to better understand the positions of the candidates, along with their education voting records.
Visit PrairiePTA.com's legislative updates tab to find these links and others that can help you prepare for November voting.

1st Grade Auction Class Party This Week

The Auction is Prairie's largest fundraiser of the year, and it kicks off with individual class parties. These parties are a great way to meet other parents in your student's grade, and helps jump start the fundraising process.

Be watching your email for an evite with specific details for your party (be sure to check your SPAM folder just in case the email isn't delivered).

  • 1st Grade -  10/22, Christy & Charles Sanders

Help Us Work the Book Fair
The Fall Book Fair is almost here and we need helpers to make things run smoothly. Work one shift or two,  Thursday, November 3 or Friday, November 4 from 7:45a.m. - 4:00p.m. Sign up here.
Anxious to see what's available? You can access Prairie's Scholastic book fair link here .  The online fair opens October 28th and runs through November 11th.
All purchases benefit Prairie's programming. This is a great way for aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc. to be able to support Prairie!

Special Guests Day Nov. 4
Special Guests Day is right around the corner! Help your student print out this letter to deliver to his/her special guest. If your special guest will be eating lunch with your student, please fill out this form and return with payment by October 27 .

Remind guests to bring their invitation with them so we can help them locate their student as quickly as possible!

If you'd like to volunteer for this event from 10:30-1:30 please email
