Walk to School Wednesday

Set your alarm 20 minutes early and plan to walk or bike to school as Prairie participates in National Walk to School Day this Wednesday.

Meet at 7:30 at one of these locations:
  • The fountain island at 69th and El Monte
  • Corner of Mission and Delmar by IHMS
  • Granada and Homestead

There will be parent chaperones at each location to walk with the students. Click here for more information.

Donate Pet Food, Toys this Week

The 6th Grade Community Outreach Committee needs your help! They're hosting a toy and food drive to benefit the animals at the Humane Society of Greater Kansas City.

Bring in unopened dog and cat food and toys this week. The classroom that contributes the most toys/food will receive a Popsicle party.  Toys should be new, and food unopened.

The committee is thrilled to help the Humane Society help pets find their fur-ever families, and is grateful for your support!

Fall Movie Night Tickets on Sale

We'd like to invite you to Fall Outdoor Movie Night at Prairie, 10/13 at 7:00 p.m. Set up your lawn chairs and blankets at 6:00 and enjoy unlimited popcorn and lemonade!

Tickets are $10 per kid - adults and kids 4 and under are free (this is NOT a drop off event-parents must attend with their kids.) Purchase tickets here , drop off checks made out to Prairie PTA in the office OR purchase tickets at the event.

The Chili Dog food truck will also be there also for those looking to make dinner out of it.

Proceeds go toward the Prairie Experience Fund.

2nd Grade Auction Class Party this Week

The Auction is Prairie's largest fundraiser of the year, and it kicks off with individual class parties. These parties are a great way to meet other parents in your student's grade, and helps jump start the fundraising process.

Be watching your email for an evite with specific details for your party (be sure to check your SPAM folder just in case the email isn't delivered).

  • 1st Grade -  10/22, Christy & Charles Sanders
  • 2nd Grade -  10/8, Gabrielle & Joe Beam
