"O believers! Stand firm for justice as witnesses for Gos even if it is against yourselves, your parents, or close relatives. Be they rich or poor, God is best to ensure their interests. So do not let your desires cause you to deviate ˹from justice˺. If you distort the testimony or refuse to give it, then ˹know that˺ God is certainly All-Aware of what you do." ~ Qur'an 4:135

PASSING OF DR. JACK SHAHEEN |
Shura Council offers condolences to the family on the passing of
Dr. Jack Shaheen.
Dr. Shaheen, born in 1935 in Pennsylvania, was a prolific author and professor whose career centered on dismantling stereotypes of Muslims and Arabs in the media. He was perhaps most famous for his book "
Reel Bad Arabs," where he chronicled over 900 movies where Arabs were represented negatively.

MSN WELCOMES ITS FIRST INTERN |
We are pleased to introduce sister Arwa Khan,
Muslim Speakers Network's first youth coordinator intern. She will be working with local masajid youth program coordinators and MSA's. Learn a little about her below:
How did you hear about MSN?
I learned of the Muslim Speakers Network at the MAS Convention and saw that not only do they give informative presentations by presenting hard and stable facts about Islam but they fill a void of ignorance, and I wanted to be a part of it.
What do you hope to accomplish as MSN's first Intern?
As the Youth Coordinator, I see that the youth are our future and it's our obligation to inform them of what we do. Often times, youth have skills that go unnoticed or unused. Bringing their fresh talents, they are amazing and outstanding members of our community who must be embraced with their full potential. Our youth will keep the message of Islam alive for generations and it's vital that we empower them, and give them the tools to do so.
Through my love of writing and drawing, I hope to empower the youth and to give them the fundamental tools to address these voids. With that, they will be able to not only solidify their Muslim identity but also educate and inform fellow citizens about Islam in a factual manner. That is one of the things I look forward to most inshAllah!
