Department of Health and Human Services announces funds to increase the evidenced based knowledge base of nutrition providers, drive improved health outcomes for program recipients by promoting higher service quality, and increase program efficiency through innovative nutrition service delivery models. $775,000 is available for four awards.

Tailoring Cardiac Rehabilitation to Enhance Participation of Older Adults (HHS). Department of Health and Human Services announces funds to enhance referral, participation, and adherence in cardiac rehabilitation (CR) of older and vulnerable patients who are eligible for CR under current Medicare eligibility criteria.
$1,000,000 available.

DC Opportunities:

DC Environmental Literacy Advancement Grant (OSSE). Office of the State Superintendent of Education announces funds to increase the capacity of nonprofit and community-based organizations to provide environmental education programs to District schools represented in the 2017-19 Environmental Literacy Leadership Cadre. Deadline: 9/15/2017
Funds: $800,000 is available for awards and a match is required.

Department of Human Services announces funds to establish A Rapid Re-Housing Program (RRHP) for youth ages 18-24 in the District of Columbia that will expand the availability of youth-friendly housing options and homeless services where youth facing housing crises are provided with resources to enable them to grow and move toward stability and self-sufficiency. Request for Applications will be released on August 4. Deadline: 9/1/2017  
Funds: $700,000 is available for four awards

21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant (OSSE). Office of the State Superintendent of Education announces funds to establish or expand community learning centers that provide students with academic enrichment opportunities along with activities designed to complement the students' regular academic program. Request for Application will be released on Thursday, August, 28.
Funds: $7,997,465

Scholarships for Opportunity and Results (SOAR) Act Grants (OSSE). Office of the State Superintendent of Education announces funds to increase the achievement and academic growth of DC public charter school students and to support the improvement and expansion of high-quality public charter schools. Request for Applications will be released on August 11. Deadline: Will be announced in the RFA.  
Funds: $6,000,000 is available for awards

Strategic Innovative Programming Grants (DOES). Department of Employment Services announces funds to support a structured, and innovative workforce development program for residence of the District of Columbia as a part of the Workforce Development Division Strategic Innovative Programming Initiative. Deadline: 8/4/2017
Funds: $1,050,000 is available for two awards.
