Blowing Leaves of Culture

This past weekend I took care of the leaves that had fallen in my yard. I did a wonderful job of raking and bagging. My yard was the cleanest on the block, at least for one day! The problem is my neighbor has a big tree that dumps leaves in his yard and into the street. He hasn’t raked anything so far. So, when the wind blows, all of his leaves end up in my yard! I have come to the conclusion that if I am to win the war on leaves, I must get in rhythm with my neighbor and the timing of his raking. Please continue...

Detroit - A Mission Trip in the Making
  The Hands-On Mission Work Group, of the Presbytery of Detroit, seeks to inspire individuals and congregations to engage in hands-on mission projects so they grow in faith and discipleship to our Lord Jesus Christ.     
We would like to welcome your group to Detroit on your next mission trip. Although we work in conjunction with Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), our setup is unique. We house teams in several of our local churches and partner with several experienced project organizations; we want to match your team with the lodging and work that fits you best.

Quincentennial Reformation Celebration
This celebration will take place on Sunday, October 29, 3:00 pm at Dardenne Presbyterian Church, 7400 South Outer 364, Dardenne Prairie, MO. Please come and join us as we gather to celebrate the goodness of the Lord, proclaim His great deeds, and joyfully sing of His righteousness!

Smorgasbord for Scholarships
Trinity Chapel Presbyterian Church, locate at 1631 Highway 19, in Cuba, Missouri is holding its annual Smorgasbord on Saturday, November 11 from 4-7 p.m.
Proceeds will be used for our Scholarship Fund. Admission is $12 for adults; $5 for children 4-12 and under 4 free. Veterans are also free!

All Saints Concert
On Sunday, November 5 at 4 p.m., conductor Andrew Peters leads the Second Church Chorale and Orchestra in music for All Saints Day. The program consists of Tchaikowsky’s Elegy for Strings , Gary Cornell’s arrangement of “Wayfaring Stranger,”  Eternal Light: A Requiem by English composer Howard Goodall, and Amy Beach’s “Invocation” for violin and piano performed by violinist Susie Thierbach and pianist Andrew Peters.

Part-Time Music Director/Pianist Wanted
Woodlawn Chapel Presbyterian Church in Wildwood seeks a part-time music director/pianist to lead our congregation's music ministry. Primary duties include directing the chancel and bell choirs and providing piano accompaniment for Sunday worship. Youth Activity Coordinator
First Presbyterian Church of Edwardsville, IL, is seeking an enthusiastic, part-time Youth Activity Coordinator who will provide an engaging youth ministry program for Middle School and High School Youth. 
The main focus of the position would be to initiate, organize, and carry out faith based activities for our Middle School and High School youth. Hours are somewhat flexible, but would total approximately 10 hours per week for 45 weeks at approximately $23/ hour.
The applicant should be a team player with good organizational and interpersonal skills who is also able to work comfortably within the Christian theology and practices of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A).
