Blog post by the Rev. Dr. Craig M. Howard
Presbytery of Giddings-Lovejoy
Transitional Leader

I come from a family of bishops. My great-grandfather was a bishop of several Holiness churches along the east-Texas border with western Louisiana. My father became a bishop of the same Holiness organization. My brother became a bishop of Pentecostal churches in Michigan.
I wanted nothing to do with bishops. This is one reason I became Presbyterian! Please continue here.

Conference Highlight - What Can You Learn
St. Patrick Center
Workshop by Laurie Phillips
The session content will include a history of our agency, an explanation of the Housing First philosophy and methodology, client profile (average age, gender and race, level of need, etc.), and description of what case management means in our organization. We also will talk about how we collaborate throughout the region, with both other agencies and the governmental bodies, to provide support services and end homelessness.
Host our History - Presbytery Wide
As the presbytery staff prepares to move into a smaller space, we must look at locations willing to host and care for historical items that are treasures of our presbytery. These items vary from communion sets to bound books; statuettes to stoneware; pictures to photographs. Can your church be in care of these precious gems? If you are willing to host items, we need to hear from you soon! Please email [email protected] to discuss what you might be interested in preserving for our presbytery.
