This talk by CLEAResult, Dominion East Ohio’s energy auditor, will explain why an energy audit is a good first step in solving these problems. An energy audit shows you which problems to correct to make your family more comfortable in winter and summer, while saving you energy and money. A program of the Home Repair Resource Center.

Speaker will discuss recommended regular maintenance for air conditioners, forced air furnaces and boilers, and if maintenance plans are a good idea. Learn how to assess if it is time to replace your heating system and what the fancy new thermostats can do for you.

Advanced Home Repair Workshop
Caulk, Weatherstrip & Insulate (Hands-On!)

Be part of a small group and learn  how to caulk, weatherstrip and insulate. No bystanders—everyone participates! Roll up your sleeves, grab your caulk gun and learn how to caulk ; add weatherstripping to a door and window; hang and install different kinds of insulation in a variety of places.

Classroom fee is $40 and materials fee is $20 (includes contractor-grade caulk gun, caulk, spray foam insulation and materials used in class). Registration is required to reserve a seat. For questions and more information, call 216-381-6100 x16 or visit the HRRC website.

Exterior Maintenance Grants 
The City offers exterior maintenance, free paint, and senior emergency safety grants to homeowners to correct exterior code violations cited by the Housing Inspection Department and to address health or safety hazards for senior and permanently disabled residents.

Transit Village  Model Block Grants
Do you live on Sutton Road, Sutton Place or nearby on Milverton Road? Small grants are available to assist existing property owners with exterior home repairs and energy efficiency improvements in the Transit Village project area. Improve Energy Efficiency
Empower Gas & Electric is a utility company and provider of energy savings solutions. The company and the City are partners offering Empower Shaker, a one-stop residential energy retrofit program designed to help homeowners save money and improve the environment. The program includes a one-hour, in-home evaluation with an Empower professional home consultant. The consultant's findings determine whether a home can improve its energy efficiency through the installation of insulation, a smart programmable thermostat, and LED lighting. Once the retrofits are completed, Empower estimates homeowners can save up to 30% on their utility bills.
