Congratulations to our President's Volunteer
Service Award Recipients at Out Boulder!

Every October, Out Boulder submits our volunteer hours from our dedicated friends who have helped us in the last year for the President's Volunteer Service Award. This prestigious award recognizes the sacrifices our volunteers have made to make our Boulder County community a better place. This year, we would like to recognize the following award-winners:

Nate George - Gold Award for over 500 hours of volunteer service to Out Boulder. Without Nate, The Pridehouse and our volunteer program wouldn't be able to run. Nate has dedicated so much of his time in the last year as our Volunteer Volunteer Coordinator, the least we can do is offer him a huge THANK YOU and this Gold award for his indispensable service to Out Boulder and the LGBTQ community as a whole. Thank you Nate!!!

April Richards - Silver Award for 175+ volunteer hours completed. In the last year, April has been steadily staffing the front desk of The Pridehouse, answering questions, connecting people to resources, updating our own resources, and a myriad of other tasks that have helped ensure we can continue to support the LGBTQ community of Boulder County.

Christopher Kiley - Bronze Award for 100+ volunteer hours at Out Boulder. Chris has been involved with Out Boulder on and off for a few years, but this year came on board in our ramp up to Pride. Chris helped us secure key donations of food, drinks, goods, and financial donations with their impressive cold-calling skills.

Britt Enwall - Bronze Award for 100+ volunteer hours with Out Boulder. Britt was a member of the 13-18 year-old youth program at Out Boulder, and after aging out of the group, wanted to make sure people ages 18-25 could continue to find LGBTQ community through college, vocational schools, or working after High School. Britt's Queer Creative group uses creative writing and art to bring together young adults from around Boulder County. For more info about the 18-25 group, click here.

Donnie Herrington and Justin Jones - Bronze Award for 200+ volunteer hours leading the WIP Longmont Craft Group. Donnie and Justin have been holding the WIP [Work in Progress] arts and crafts social group in Longmont for the last year. The group has grown greatly to include all kinds of different crafts, and along the way, great friendships grew to boot. You can join WIP at the KCP Gallery on Main Street in Longmont on Thursdays from 4-7 PM. Click here for more information.

Out Youth Film Project
Continues THIS SATURDAY (10/10)

The Out Youth Film Project is up and running! Don't worry if you missed last week, but this is the LAST Saturday that is open to people who haven't signed up yet! Come hang out with us, do creative writing activities, watch film clips and learn about the project with no commitment!

In the first month we will be holding film screenings from the 1-3 PM Free Work period, so even if you'd just like to join us for these films and a discussion, you can! (Ages 13 and above)
Participants after 10/17 will need to be able to commit to attendance every Saturday from 11-1, however if this is a burden, we can find a solution to make sure everyone has the ability to participate. Free work time from 1-3 PM is always optional, but will become more necessary further on in the year.

The Film Project is a serious commitment, but this unique class is worth it. Once everyone's films are done, we will host a premiere event open to community members to share everyone's films! (location TBD)

For more information about the Film Project, go t www.outboulder.org/youthfilm
