Presidents' Day February 16th, 2015
Did you know that these guys were vandals?

and that

John Tyler (b 1790) still has LIVING grandsons.

Funny how much there is to know about our "forefathers"! I had no idea until I went on a little hunt to create this missive to you. Check out this page for a bunch of fun facts but here are a few.

1. John Adams and Thomas Jefferson traveled to Stratford-on-Avon and actually took a knife to one of Shakepeare's chairs to take home a bit of wood as a souvenir.

2. Everyone in Teddy Roosevelt's family had a pair of stilts which they knew how to use.
(See a few more after a short commercial break!)

Just like our Presidents, our Presidents' Day Gala has a charming and varied history. The Gala is full of tradition which we honor
because our hearts are with the Democratic Party in DuPage which, though it still has lots of growing to do, works day in and day out for things we really believe in:
Human Rights
Economic Fairness
Collective bargaining
Affordable Education
A Humane Justice System
and much more.
