Boulder Nordic Sport News Birkie Fever is here and BNS has it! We've spent the last week getting geared up; the BNS Mobile trailer is already out in the Midwest and we've got a whole pallet of wax, tools and gloves on its way to Hayward for the Birkie Expo. Our Expo booth is going to be even bigger and better than last year with wax and tools from Holmenkol and SkiGo as well as SkiGo gloves, made famous at last year's Birkie. In other news, it is Presidents' Day Weekend and we figured it just wouldn't be right not to have a Presidents' Day Sale. We've got skis, boots, poles, and clothing up to 30% off! We've seen our Birkie Race Wax Service slots filling up faster than ever before, but we've still got plenty of room if you haven't signed up yet. The BNS Mobile Service Crew has been in Hayward testing wax on the Birkie Trail for weeks and we're continuing to test and update bouldernordic.com with the latest test results and recommendations. BNS Birkie Race Wax Service
|

 BNS Mobile will be at the American Birkebeiner Feb 22-25 with a full service team providing wax sales and brand-neutral race waxing service. Treat yourself to a full race wax application by our pro service team so you can relax and focus on your race, or just drop by the Expo to find out what wax is running fastest and stock up on whatever wax you need. We will be testing all brands of waxes to find the fastest solution. BNS will post wax updates to Facebook and bouldernordic.com as well as at BNS Mobile and the Expo.

Details
Our race service is $85 and includes base prep, LF & HF paraffins, pure fluoro topcoats and hand-structure. For classic skis, we will iron in a binder layer in the kick zone you designate, but we will not wax with the final kick wax layers. You will want to apply those race morning to achieve the best results. We will test kick waxes, provide recommendations, and sell you kick wax if you need it, but you will have to apply it yourself race morning.
Ski Drop Off
Please get your skis to BNS as early as possible in order to allow us to do base prep and deliver your skis on time and without stress. We will have a drop off in Minneapolis at Wirth Park Tuesday from 5-7PM in front of the Chalet as well as in Hayward on Thursday at the Expo.
Please deliver skis to us clean and scraped. Print out your receipt and bring a copy with you to drop-off. Make sure skis are labeled with name, cell phone number, and the event you are doing.

Ski Pick Up
Skis will be available for pick-up 6PM-9PM Friday, February 24th at the Hayward Expo area. Skis will be completed in the order they were received, so skis that enter the queue late may not be completed by the 6PM deadline.
Refund Policy
NOTE: THIS IS NON-REFUNDABLE. BNS will refund if the race or BNS has to cancel for any reason, but otherwise this is non-refundable.

World Cup Waxing Symposium & Gold Medal Wax Service
with Randy Gibbs

During a break in World Cup action this winter, World Cup Service Technician Randy Gibbs will join forces with Boulder Nordic Sport (BNS) for the American Birkebeiner. Gibbs will add his extensive experience to the BNS Mobile Race Service Crew for their Race Waxing Service. To take advantage Randy's seven years of unique experience waxing skis for top athletes, BNS will host a World Cup Waxing Symposium and offer a special Gold Medal Wax Service for the American Birkebeiner.
The World Cup Waxing Symposium will be held at Hopkins High School in the Minneapolis area on Tuesday, February 21 from 7-9pm. This clinic will provide an intimate setting to master every step that goes into creating the best possible skis in the world. Topics will include ski and grind selection, glide wax and fluoro application as well as kick zone preparation from sanding all the way up to wax selection and application. More than just a lecture, participants will get hands-on experience under the expert supervision of Gibbs and the BNS Tech Team. All attendees will receive a special email on the day before the Birkie with race-specific waxing instructions and be entered to win a drawing for a signed World Cup bib, a Holmenkol structure tool, Ski Go wax and a free BNS World Cup-level Birkie wax service. Cost for this event is $250 until registration closes on February 20. Limit: 40 participants. In addition to BNS's highly-successful Mobile Race Waxing Services, BNS and Gibbs are launching a new Gold Medal Race Waxing Service that will provide the same level of ski service that Gibbs provides to athletes on the World Cup circuit. Gibbs will evaluate each Gold Medal skier's race fleet and then help participants select two pairs of race skis by testing on the Birkie trail Thursday or Friday before the race. Gibbs will then apply the full World Cup Wax and structure treatment to two pairs of skis for race day. Only eight spaces are available for this Gold Medal service, so sign up today! Cost for the Gold Medal Race service is $350, available at the American Birkebeiner only.

BNS Mobile travels to the largest cross-country ski events in the US offering professional race waxing services and sales of ski wax, tools and accessories on-site. It serves as the base of operations for our experts to bring World Cup-level service to the US racing scene. We'll be doing brand-neutral wax testing and recommendations as well as support of the wax brands of Holmenkol, SkiGo, Guru, Magnar, Rex and others. While your competition stresses about which wax to use, where to get it and how to apply it, you can relax after you drop off your skis with our professional service crew.
