WASHINGTON, DC - On Friday, April 28, 2017, the Council of Korean Americans (CKA) will host the
Embrace Unity Symposium & Gala
at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) to commemorate
the 25th anniversary of the LA Riots.
The Embrace Unity Symposium & Gala will bring together a diverse group of community leaders, civil society groups, public officials, business executives, and citizens to talk about race relations in the 25 years since the LA Riots.
All proceeds from the Embrace Unity Gala will go toward funding under-served youth scholars in Los Angeles.
"CKA is honored to be the host of this important gathering," said Sam Yoon, Executive Director of CKA. "We welcome Asian American, African American, and Hispanic American community members to join us in this historic event and to stand united in these times of racial division in this country."
CKA Board Member Dr. Kenneth Kim and CKA Member and Public Affairs Commissioner of the California State Asian Pacific Islander Jihee Kim Huh are Co-Chairs of the Embrace Unity Gala.
