Betye Saar to Receive Three Lifetime Achievement Honors

Roberts & Tilton is pleased to announce Betye Saar will be honored on three occasions for her invaluable contributions to contemporary art history over the past six decades.

International Sculpture Center (ISC) will present Betye Saar with a Lifetime Achievement Award On April 18, 2018. The ISC's Board of Trustees established the award in 1991 to recognize individual sculptors who have made exemplary contributions to the field of sculpture. Candidates for the award are masters of sculptural processes and techniques who have devoted their careers to the development of a laudable body of sculptural work as well as to the advancement of the sculpture field as a whole. Previous recipients include Magdalena Abakanowicz, Lynda Benglis, Louise Bourgeois, Sir Anthony Caro, John Chamberlain, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Tony Cragg, Mark di Suvero, Claes Oldenburg, Coosje van Bruggen, Nam June Paik, Beverly Pepper, Robert Rauschenberg, George Rickey, Joel Shapiro, Kiki Smith, and Frank Stella, to name a few. The Museum of African Diaspora San Francisco (MoAD) will present Betye Saar with the Lifetime Achievement in the Arts Award on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Past honorees include David Adjaye (Visionary in the Arts Award), Richard Mayhew (Lifetime Achievement Award), CCH Pounder (Visionary Leader in the Performing Arts), Mickalene Thomas (Distinguished Contemporary Artist), and Mary Stallings (Lifetime Achieving Award).  For additional information, please visit moadsf.org
