Soup Cook Off to Benefit the Music School
to be held January 31 in Mechanicsburg

January 21, 2016, Mechanicsburg, PA - Donations are coming in to the Keystone Musical Arts Center (KMAC) as word spreads about the new nonprofit school of music on the West Shore. This includes financial contributions as well as items needed for the upcoming fundraiser, a Soup Cook Off that will be held from 12 - 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016 at the Park Inn, 5401 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA. More information and advance tickets for that event are online at TheSoupCookOff.com or by calling 717-737-KMAC (5622).

Freedom Auto Group of Harrisburg recently donated $5,000 to the Keystone Musical Arts Center (KMAC). Pictured are Terry Selders, KMAC Executive Director, and Evelyn Chatel, Freedom Auto Group of Harrisburg General Manager.

The Keystone Musical Arts Center (KMAC) received a dozen gift baskets from Exel Corporation in Mechanicsburg as a donation for the music school's upcoming Soup Cook Off benefit.  Exel also arranged for a basket to be donated by One Good Woman Coffee, Tea & Gourmet Gifts in Camp Hill (bottom right).  KMAC director Terry Selders (left) is pictured with Scott Hile, General Manager of Exel.

KMAC instructors are teaching in temporary
locations in and around Mechanicsburg while preparations are being made to renovate a space in the Hampden Center shopping plaza for the school. Fundraising efforts are currently geared toward construction costs, but those involved look forward to the next phase. "Our teachers provide excellent private instruction on many instruments and voice," says Terry Selders, Executive Director of KMAC, "but we can do so much more once we're back together under one roof. Important parts of our mission, such as group classes for all ages, ensembles of varying styles, music classes for homeschoolers and unique musical experiences for the entire community, plus much-needed music therapy options are all on hold until the facility is completed. We thank everyone who has contributed in any way toward fulfilling our promise to the community. A special thank you to our most recent contributor, the Freedom Auto Group of Harrisburg, for their generous financial gift!"
