Major Commercial and Housing Re-investments Announced in Westland
Westland, MI --  The Westland City Council has recently approved two major re-investment projects, totaling over $17 million.

The first is a $17 million investment in Greenwood Villa senior living apartments. This investment includes $12 million in renovations with a $42,000 rennovation for each individual unit in the complex.  They will also construct a 3,336 square foot community room addition to the south side of the building, a 1,209 square foot maintenance garage northeast of the existing building, a new 680 square foot pavilion east of the building and a replacement canopy at the north entrance of the building.  Greenwood Villa  Apartments has offered housing for seniors since 1977 and is comprised of 210 high rise units.

The second project was a request from Todd Wenzel Buick GMC for exterior renovations to the dealership building, located at 35100 Ford Road.  The long-time Westland dealership, formerly Red Holman Pontiac, was recently purchased by Todd Wenzel, an owner of multiple car dealerships on the west side of the state.  They propose to remove an existing overhang along the perimeter of the dealership and the area will be re-clad with an aluminum composite material identical to the existing facade along the showroom portion of the building. The project includes new overhead doors for access into the new dealership building. This project, which will result in an investment of around $450,000, is the first of multiple improvements planned for this recently purchased car dealership. These improvements will complete the modernization of the exterior of the building.

"We are pleased to see continued reinvestment in our community in both the residential and commercial sectors, "  commented Mayor Wild.  "These investments are representative of the continued growth and sustainability of the Westland community as a whole."
