Youth Sport Classes - Keep your kids active this winter with youth sport classes. The Livonia Family YMCA is offering soccer and basketball classes from Tuesday, February 27 through Wednesday, April 11. Kids ages 3-7 can participate. Classes will be held at the Jefferson Barnes Community Vitality Center in the gymnasium, located at 32150 Dorsey St. 


Easter Bunny Comes to Westland Shopping Center - Easter is coming up soon and that means that the Easter Bunny is at the Westland Shopping Center.  The Easter Village is set up in the East Court of the Mall.  He will be there to visit with all of the little kids and pose for pictures.  To find out specific times, please visit the mall's website at www.westlandcenter.com

Scheduled Upcoming Civic Meetings - Residents are invited to attend the upcoming City meetings.  Below is a list of the meetings with their date, time and location:

Disability Concerns
  • The Disability Concerns Committee will meet on Monday, March 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.
City Council
  • The Westland City Council will hold a study session at on Monday, March 19 at 5:30 p.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.
  • There will be a study session on Monday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.
  • The regular meeting of the Westland City Council will take place on Monday, March 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.
Housing Commission
  • The Housing Commission meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 20 at 5:30 p.m. at JBCVC, located at 32150 Dorsey St.
Zoning Board of Appeals
  • The ZBA meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 21 at 5:30 p.m. at Wesltand City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd. 
Downtown Development Authority
  • There will be a meeting of the DDA on Thursday, March 22 at 8:00 a.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.
Westland Rotary Luau Party - on Friday, March 23 the Westland Rotary is throwing a Luau.  The event starts at 5:30 p.m. at Joy Manor, located at 28999 Joy Rd.  Tickets are $50 which includes Hula Dancers, dinner and an open bar, a live auction and music.  For more information, please click here.

Easter Egg-Stravaganza - Join the Westland Area Jaycees for their Annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, March 24 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at the Wayne Ford Civic League, located at 1661 N.
