Easter Egg-Stravaganza - Join the Westland Area Jaycees for their Annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, March 24 at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at the Wayne Ford Civic League, located at 1661 N. Wayne Rd.  Bring the little ones and your own bag to collect the Easter Eggs!  For more information on the event and for ticket info, please click here.

Youth Sport Classes - Keep your kids active this winter with youth sport classes. The Livonia Family YMCA is offering soccer and basketball classes from Tuesday, February 27 through Wednesday, April 11. Kids ages 3-7 can participate. Classes will be held at the Jefferson Barnes Community Vitality Center in the gymnasium, located at 32150 Dorsey St. 


Easter Bunny Comes to Westland Shopping Center - Easter is coming up soon and that means that the Easter Bunny is at the Westland Shopping Center.  The Easter Village is set up in the East Court of the Mall.  He will be there to visit with all of the little kids and pose for pictures.  To find out specific times, please visit the mall's website at www.westlandcenter.com

Historical Commission
  • The Westland Historical Commission will meet on Tuesday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. at the Westland Historic Village Park, located at 857 N. Wayne Rd.
Not All Sugar and Spice: Bad Women of the Mitten - Bestselling Michigan crime writer  Mardi Link is bringing the bad girls to the library on Thursday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. She will detail infamous women such as triple murderer Martha Beck who called her life, "a love story"; Bernardine Dorhn who made the FBI's Most Wanted List and then became a lawyer; Charlotte Peterson's tavern antics inspired Anatomy of a Murder and more. Join the discussion about their motives, background, and of course, their punishments. Registration encouraged.

City Offices Closed in Observance of Good Friday - On Friday, March 30 City Offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday.  This includes the 18th District Court.  The Westland Public Library will remain open on Good Friday, but will be closed on Saturday, March 31 and Sunday, April 1.  Trash and recycling pick up will not be affected by the closure.
