Westland Hires Two New Police Officers


 


 

Westland, MI - The City of Westland welcomed Josh Scaglione and Thomas Wroblewski as two new police officers at a swearing in ceremony on Monday, November 16 at Westland City Hall.  


 

Josh Scaglione comes from a close and loving family with four other siblings.  He has a ten year old son named Carter that he is very proud of.  Josh was raised in Livonia where he attended Stevenson High School.  In 2013, Josh graduated from Wayme County Regional Police Academy and Schoolcraft College with his Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice.  Soon after graduation, Josh worked as a part-time officer with the Metroparks and Sumpter Township Police Department.  Josh is also a former Westalnd Police Service Aid.  His goal is to obtain his Bachelor's Degree and become a K-9 handler.


 

Thomas Wroblewski is married and has five children.  He graduated from Plymouth Christian Academy in 2002.  He attended the Detroit Police Academy and became a Detroit Police Officer in 2009.  He is very active in youth ministry through his church and enjoys mentoring children.


 

"I am proud to welcome these highly qualified individuals to Westland," said Mayor William R. Wild. "Our community looks forward to their service and dedication to the residents." 

 

 

Chief Jeff Jedrusik added, "I am very proud of what this Department has accomplished in the past 5 years and what we intend to complete over the next 5 years. These Officers will be fine additions to our Department and we welcome them and their commitment to serving the residents of Westland."
