Westland, MI - The City of Westland is updating its Master Plan, a comprehensive document that provides a long-range vision for future development and policy. Based on an evaluation of present conditions, the Master Plan works to solve social, environmental, physical and economic issues.
The City has retained OHM Advisors to assist in the planning process. OHM Advisors is an integrated engineering, architecture, and planning firm in Livonia, committed to advancing communities. OHM brings more than 50 years of public and private sector expertise, forward thinking, and insightful counsel to help plan for the future of Westland.
"The main goal of developing a citywide Master Plan is to translate the community's values into specific actions," commented Mayor Wild. "It provides a framework for future land use decision-making, identifies key public projects for Capital Improvements and helps facilitate infrastructure maintenance and improvement."
As part of the Plan update process, information and data is gathered from prior planning studies, while current views and opinions are collected through community meetings and forums where residents are invited to provide input on the future of Westland. Other sources include data gathered from the U.S. Census and mapping data provided by the City and County.
The City of Westland invites all residents to discuss the City of Westland's Master Plan update on
Monday, February 26th, at 6:30 p.m. in the Grande Ball Room in Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Road.
The City and consultant team will review the Master Plan process and will seek input regarding the future vision of Westland. Feedback gathered from this Community Summit will then be incorporated into the final draft of the Master Plan.
