BOISE -
Idaho Republican Party Chairman Steve Yates issued the following statement in response to the ID Dem Convention:
"The recent ID Dem Convention was a stark contrast to the IDGOP Convention, and paints a clear picture of why we need to elect Republicans at every level in Idaho. The contentious ID Dem Convention had one overwhelming theme: make Idaho more liberal
.
Over the weekend, the Democrats passed resolutions and a Platform advocating liberal policies that are out of touch with most Idahoans, and pushed the ID Dems closer to the National Democrat Party. These issues included, but were not limited to, legalizing all drugs, socializing medicine, driving up the minimum wage, raising taxes, and gun control.
This kind of liberal ideology is a clear example of why we must elect Republicans in November. All of our Republican nominees will better represent Idahoans than Democrats who have clearly embraced the liberal policies of Clinton/Sanders/Obama."
