Late registration will continue for the first two weeks of classes until April 28th for the same class fee.
BRAC's long history in the Bronx dates back to the 1970's when BRAC was founded as an extension of the first Bronx River Restoration Program. Thanks to support from foundations, corporate entities, and government agencies that subsidize our programming, BRAC is able to offer our classes at fees well below regional market rates. Classes for children and teens cost $75 for the 10-week session, and classes for adults cost $100 for 8 weeks. In addition to our already low rates, a limited number of partial-tuition scholarships are available for youth and are awarded based on financial need and/or portfolio review. Please call us at 718-589-5819 for further information about this opportunity.
BRAC also offers a special, intensive program (two days a week, plus some Saturday museum trips) Teen Project Studios. In this course students develop skills in a variety of traditional and new art media, while also gaining leadership experience to enhance their college applications. Each class focuses on a specific real-world project to engage students in community service. This spring series will focus on projects that utilize mobile technology (including iPads) to create art for public spaces and graphic novels, that are designed to engage the community in telling their stories of The Bronx and the West Farms area. The most dedicated students will be invited to participate as paid interns in BRAC's "Teen Ambassador Program" during the coming summer session! This special program is offered FREE, by application only, for 15 students ages 13-18. Interested teens should apply by April 28th. Information about how to apply can be found on our website at http://bronxriverart.org/education-teen-institute.cfm.
