Successful IDGOP State Convention Ends on High Note
BOISE, IDAHO - A successful IDGOP State Convention ended June 4 with the election of Party Officials. Elections came at the end of a convention that, for a weekend, brought Republicans across the state together for training and planning for the future.

"This is by far one of the best, and most smoothly run, Conventions that Idaho has ever seen." said Executive Director David Johnston. "We broke fundraising records, had delegates from nearly every county, and had guest appearances by several national figures who  inspired our delegates and focused us on victory in 2016. Everyone who attended Convention this year was focused on coming together and making it a productive weekend, and because of that, we were able to accomplish a lot in a few days. Overall, the weekend was a huge success."

Election results are as follows:
  • Chairman: Steve Yates
  • 1st Vice Chair: Mike Matthews
  • 2nd Vice Chair: Tyler Hurst
  • Secretary: Marla Lawson
  • Treasurer: Chris Harriman
  • National Committeeman: Damond Watkins
  • National Committeewoman: Cindy Siddoway
"I am honored to be entrusted to continue serving the Republicans of Idaho and advocating for our platform," said Chairman Steve Yates. "We have already begun planning for the next two years, and I look forward to continuing to build the Republican Party in Idaho. Convention served its purpose to help unify us around the work that needs to be done and the principles that we believe in. None of this would have been possible if it weren't for the Canyon County Host Committee and all of the volunteers who took time to serve at Convention. We are all incredibly grateful for their efforts."

Over 1,000 delegates, alternates, guests and elected officials came from across the state for the weekend. Convention events included committee meetings to amend the Party Platform, change Party Rules, pass resolutions, and select delegates to the National Convention; trainings for candidates and grassroots leaders; and luncheons and receptions featuring prominent national speakers to inspire and motivate us for the work that lies ahead.
