With Record Voter  Turn-Out, Cruz wins Idaho
BOISE, IDAHO -  The Idaho Republican Party is pleased to announce that Senator Ted Cruz has won Idaho in the first Idaho Presidential Primary that saw record-setting voter turnout, beating all expectations.

More than 222,000 Idaho Republicans cast a ballot, the highest voter participation in a primary in Idaho history. This equates to 74% participation among Republicans and 30% among all registered voters.

We look forward to turnout results from Idaho Democrats, who opted to forego Idaho's Presidential Primary in favor for a caucus system.

"Idaho matters, and last night served as confirmation of that. Five candidates visited in 2015, two candidates rallied in Idaho over the weekend to seek our votes, and record turnout yesterday made the move to the presidential primary a major success," said Idaho GOP Chairman Steve Yates. "Last night's record breaking turnout - in addition to the capacity crowds by multiple candidates in the last week - prove that Republicans are energized and ready to take the fight to either Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton in November."

Texas Senator Ted Cruz won 45.4%, trailed by Donald Trump at 28.1%, Senator Marco Rubio at 15.9%, and Governor John Kasich at 7.4%. While official results won't come until next week after the election has been certified, as of now Cruz will receive 20 delegates and Trump 12.

The Ted Cruz Idaho leadership team consisted of Idaho Treasurer Ron Crane and Norm Semanko. We congratulate the Cruz campaign on a hard fought campaign in Idaho.

After last night's success, Idaho Republicans look forward to building on our momentum in order to ensure a Republican victory in November.
