I am very excited to introduce our new U.S. 501(c)3 Non-profit ReefCI Corporation.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, guest explorers and volunteers, ReefCI is moving forward with many critical priorities. ReefCI is on target to remove over 7,000 Lionfish this year! Our Lionfish culling program, and its integration with the local Belizean economy, is receiving international recognition.
United Airlines Hemisphere Magazine's provocative headline, "Lionfish, Wanted Dead or Alive," featured our compelling undertaking to eradicate the ecological disaster caused by the invasive nature of Lionfish. The Ministry of Tourism of Colombia and the environmental Sea Flower Biosphere Reserve in San Andres Island included ReefCI's unique platform, as an example, at a recent forum for sustainable tourism on small islands.
However, the threats posed by the Lionfish continue to wreak havoc on the natural treasures of the ecosystems surrounding Belize.
And that's why I'm counting on you to respond generously with your tax-deductible year-end contribution today!
Your donation will be put to work immediately. Our targets include funding to create campaigns for additional regional and international awareness for Lionfish control. New dive equipment and boat engine upgrades will reinforce the necessary success of the research, culling and exploration accomplished by our volunteers. Your financial support will enable us to continue our collaborative efforts with Belize fisheries, local businesses and NGO's to create a National Lionfish Response Plan. Our ultimate goal is for a totally green operation, including solar power and environmentally friendly boat engines.
With your generosity, we can address these challenges.
Together, we can make a difference.
Thank you for your support, and for your year-end tax deductible donation.
