2016 Putt for Pride Golf Tournament 

The Putt for Pride Golf Tournament will be held at  the beautiful Peninsula Club on Monday, May 9th. 

Registration for golf is open at EventBee

Sponsors needed: A wide range of sponsorship opportunities are available. Sponsorship of this event is a great way to support PLP. It is also a high profile opportunity to strengthen market awareness of a business' services and products to members of the PLP community.







Non-Uniform Day Moved to March 11

Please note that the Non-Uniform Day originally scheduled for March 5th has been moved to Friday, March 11. Please mark your calendars! 


PLP to Participate in Read Across America Week 

The Lower School will participate in the National Education Association's Read Across America initiative with the following activities: 

Monday: DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time throughout the day
 
Tuesday: Charlotte Hornets Book Bus Assembly 

Wednesday: Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast with Mrs. Sims and Mr. Webb-  a book recommendation contest in Literacy 

Thursday: DEAR time throughout the day including special guest readers from the Upper School. 

Friday: Lower School students may dress up as your favorite Dr. Seuss character with uniform bottoms.

PTO Seeking Officers for 2016-17 Academic Year

The PTO is seeking applications for 5 open positions:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Co- Treasurer (Teacher Grants)
  • Co-Treasurer (Events)
 
 
Members will vote at the Annual Board Meeting on Tuesday, April 12th. All interested candidates should send a brief bio to Jennifer Mautz, PTO Secretary, no later than Monday, March 7th.

Senator Visits Middle School Progressives Club

This week, Senator Jeff Jackson visited the Pine Lake Progressives club. He spoke with the students about recent legislation happening in the NC general assembly.  The students greatly enjoyed meeting him and asking questions about his work as a state senator. 


 
PTO Checkers Night

Join us on Sat., March 12 for Checkers hockey excitement at PTO's PLP Checkers Night!
 
·         Cost:  Adults and student tickets are $16 each. The PTO is offering PLP teachers and staff tickets at $14. 
 
·         Fundraiser: $5 of each student and teacher/staff entrance cost goes towards their grade level's 2016-2017 Teacher Grant!
 
·         Registration: Open now until Fri., March 4.
