In an effort to make early release run more smoothly, the Lower School early release times have been tweaked as follows: 

LOWER SCHOOL
10:50 am      K Wave Only
11:05 am      Release K to Buses 
11:10 am      Call Bus Riders to Buses
11:15  am     General Dismissal ( & buses leave)

UPPER SCHOOL
11:30 am     (bus riders released earlier to make their shuttles)

MIDDLE SCHOOL
12 pm           (bus riders released earlier to make their shuttles)

Session 4 After School Enrichments Registration Open



Registration is now OPEN for Session 4 Enrichments at OrgsOnline. New sessions including Speaking French, Tennis, weekend STEM camps, and more, as well as perpetual favorites, GEMS, Piano, and a new favorite, Spielgaben. Who knew Chemistry could be so yummy?

Ms. Brastow's AP and Honors Chemistry classes are working on a topic in chemistry called "stoichiometry" which relates the quantities of reactants and products in a reaction. In the lab they were each given random amounts of the three ingredients (graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows) and asked to calculate how many s'mores they could make, which ingredient was their limiting reactant (the one that would run out first), and how much of the excess (or left over) ingredients would they end with.


K-12 Spanish Teachers Attend Conference
Today, members of the Spanish Department (K-12) are participating in professional development at the Southern Conference of Language Teaching in Charlotte.

Pride Night at Duckworth's in Huntersville - Tues., Feb. 23, 4pm-8pm

Tell your server that you are with PLP, and they will donate 10% back to PLP. 100% of these funds will be used to show our teachers how much we love them with treats during Teacher Appreciation. No registration needed.

 
 
Candy Bingo - Last Days to Register! Registration Closes Tues., Feb 23

Join us for Candy Bingo and sweet treats at PTO's Pride Event on Fri., Feb 26. PLP family owned business SugarPop's Candy and Soda Shop has generously offered to host games of Candy Bingo and give 10% back on in-store purchases to help raise money for Teacher Appreciation!  
 
·         Candy Bingo: The cost is $5 per person for half an hour of Candy Bingo. For each ticket purchased, SugarPop's Candy and Soda Shop will give an incredible $4 back to the PTO for Teacher Appreciation!
 
·         In-Store Purchases: If you are tempted to buy candy at the store, rest assured that your purchases make a difference. SugarPop's will discount 20% off your in-store candy purchases AND give the PTO 10% of your purchase back for Teacher Appreciation! That's a yummy win-win!

PLP Checkers Night - Registration Open Until Fri. March 4 

Join us on Sat., March 12 for Checkers hockey excitement at PTO's PLP Checkers Night!
 
·         Cost:  Adults and student tickets are $16 each. The PTO is offering PLP teachers and staff tickets at $14. 
 
·         Fundraiser: $5 of each student and teacher/staff entrance cost goes towards their grade level's 2016-2017 Teacher Grant!
 
·         Registration: Open now until Fri., March 4.

Save the Date: 2016 Putt for Pride Golf Tournament 

Please save the date!! This year's Putt for Pride tournament will be held May 9th. Details are still being planned, but please mark this day on your calendars! 

The Ladies' Luncheon will also be on May 9th, and will have some fun changes - we can't wait to share the details with you.
