Prince of Peace Lutheran Church
SUMMER 2016: Course Catalog
Dear Parents:

Summer is fast approaching and Prince of Peace is offering 11 WEEKS of Summer Day Camp this Summer. This Summer our overall theme is "WHATEVER" and we are basing our experiences off of Philippians 4:9 which says ~ "Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me, put it into practice. We will spend part of each week learning and hearing the words of God and then we will spend part of our week putting those words into practice.

Please feel free to register for as many weeks as you would like, by clicking HERE!

Happy Summer,

During our week of Day Camp we will dive into a life of service through stories, games, and service projects. We will truly understand what it means to say, Here I Am-Send ME!

CAMP TELL THE GOOD NEWS
Three, two, one, ACTION!  Campers get set for a fun week of learning to talk on camera like a real news anchor.  During camp we will film a series of brief  "shows" to be aired in worship that will cover the lesson of the day.  As you participate in camp, you will learn how to be tellers of the good news of Christ. This camp has limited spaces, so act NOW to register!

LET'S HAVE FUN
Due to the 4th of July Holiday we will taking this week to simply hang out at Church and have fun in anyway we can.

LET IT GROW
In the parable of the sower we are reminded to plant the seed in good soil so that it can grow and multiply. How can we apply this lesson to our daily lives.
During this week we will be working together to not only grow our own seeds of faith, but we will be growing seeds to create a garden.

LET IT SHOW
In the Parable of the Talents we meet three people-all who handle what they have been given very differently. Two of them take their "talents" and share them so that they grow, while the 3rd hides their "talent" away. We all have talents, and we all have things that make us unique. How can we use our talents to serve God and serve others.
This week will have a drama/theater aspect that will involve a Sunday morning and/or Wednesday night commitment.

LET IT SHINE
Matthew 5:16 tells us to shine so that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven.
We will be using Go Fish Guys' SHINE! Curriculum to discover ways that we can shine for the world to see.  When it comes to salvation, God did everything which means he gets all the glory. Remarkably, the Bible speaks of crowns that will be given to those who shine for Jesus here on earth.
August Schedule: Camps and Dates
August 1-5 God Listens: Adventures In Prayer Day Camp
WAPO (4th-6th Grade)
August 8-12 Mega Sports Camp
August 15-19 Let the Children Come Day Camp
August 22-26 Go and DO Day Camp

GOD LISTENS: ADVENTURES IN PRAYER
As our older students are at WAPO, we will be embarking on a prayerful journey alongside them. God listens to us in our prayers, but we also need to remember to take the time out of our busy lives to listen to what God is saying to us. This week we will explore tangible ways to do just that as part of our every day life.
NOTE: There will be a WAPO ONE Day option for 1st-3rd graders at an additional cost of $20/kid.

MEGA SPORTS CAMP
During our week of Sports Camp, students will be able to choose a sport for which they would like to work on skills and part of their day will be spent in sports drills. The other part of our day will be spent hearing about some EPIC Sports moments from world famous athletes such as Bethany Hamilton, and the 2015 US Womens Soccer team.  "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

LET THE CHILDREN COME
All throughout the Bible we hear stories about children, but one of the most well known is when the Disciples tried to push them away, and Jesus said 'Let the little children come to me." We will immerse ourselves in stories about kids and the Bible and we will leave the week knowing exactly what it means to be a Child of God.

GO AND DO
Jesus gave his disciples the task of going out and making disciples. We are given that same task. As we wrap up our Summer, we will explore a variety of ways that we can go back into our schools, neighborhoods and communities and share the love of Jesus with those around us.
