Street Sweeping Begins
Dear Neighbors,
City Council has supported the March for Our Lives movement by passing three measures:

A full contingent from the 43rd Ward, including students from our local schools, marched over the weekend. See more pictures on our our Facebook page or Instagram page.
New Condominium Privacy Ordinance

I co-sponsored a new Condominium Privacy Ordinance to help preserve owners' privacy. While condominium owners supply email and phone numbers to management, a new State law requires associations to make this personal information available to any resident who seeks it. Now, the new Condominium Privacy Ordinance disallows sharing the information without a rule passed by 2/3 of the unit owners.

Many condo associations publish voluntary directories. This new ordinance does not affect that practice.

A similar effort to repeal the new State law is underway in Springfield.

Community Meeting Re: 2658- 2670 N. Lincoln Ave.

Tuesday, April 3, 2018
New Life Community Church
1110 W. Lill Ave.
6:30 p.m.

Our office  and the  Wrightwood Neighbors Association   will host a community meeting  to discuss revisions to plans for the gas station site and adjoining building at 2658-2670 N. Lincoln Avenue. The proposal has been downsized to reflect community feedback from our earlier December 2017 community meeting.

The revised plan includes 36 residential units (from the initial 45) and 19 parking stalls (from the initial 17). The proposed commercial space on Seminary Street is now replaced with residential duplex units, and the remaining commercial place on Lincoln Avenue will shrink to 2,240 square feet (from the original 6,500 square feet of commercial space).

My office will monitor the meeting discussion and record your feedback.  Click   here  for more information.

Chicago Tribune Latest to Endorse The North Branch Park Preserve

The Lincoln Yards will be a game-changer for quality of life in our Ward. They is why our community groups, along with a growing city-wide coalition, are championing a real park on the east side of the Chicago River called The North Branch Park Preserve . Read the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times strong endorsements of this vision as the last opportunity to create true public open space in the former Industrial Corridor projected to hold 50,000 new residents.
New 18th District Commander

The Chicago Police Dept. has announced that Dan O'Shea is our new 18th District Commander. With over 20 years of service, he most recently served as Executive Officer of the 6th (Gresham) District.
