Summer Weekend Hours

Summer weekend hours are now in effect for the main and Beverly Farms branch libraries. The main library is closed on Sundays, and the Farms branch is closed on Saturdays, until October 2018. Please see full hours of operation for both libraries here

The main library and the Farms branch will be closed for Independence Day on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Both libraries will resume normal hours on Thursday, July 5.

All Ages Summer Reading Kickoff

Who says summer reading is just for kids? This summer, join our adult program for readers 18+ for a chance to win awesome prizes with Summer Book Bingo. Pick up your bingo board at our June 20 Summer Reading Kickoff, or beginning Thursday, June 21 at the main and Farms libraries or online. Prizes include free Chipotle, gift cards to iTunes and Barnes and Noble, and a BOSE Bluetooth speaker! Bingo boards include all participation info and prize entry details. Well Met: Songs of the Sea

Join Ohio folk singer Judy Cook for this illustrated musical program featuring historic and traditional sea songs and ballads including tales of men, women and the sea, shipwrecks, and ghosts and mermaids. The songs are funny and serious, chorus and narrative, ancient and not-so-ancient. Some lyrics will be available so all may join in the singing. Free and open to adults; light refreshments included. Sponsored by the Friends of the Beverly Public Library
Arts Fest Pop-Up Book Sale

Barnet Gallery, Main Library
Celebrate Arts Fest with the Friends of the Beverly Public Library at their one-day pop-up sale featuring books, DVDs, CDs and Friends gift merchandise. Come cool off, enjoy complimentary refreshments, and refresh your summer reading supply while helping the Friends support the library! Hardcovers $2, paperbacks $1, all children's books 2/$1. Cash or checks accepted. All proceeds benefit the library.
Summer Italian Film Series

Energy Barre Pop-Up Adult Fitness

Parking Notice: Gran Prix Bike Race

The Goldberg Properties Gran Prix of Beverly bike race takes place on Thursday, June 28 in downtown Beverly. The main library's parking lot will be closed to car traffic from 3 - 8 PM. Alternate parking is available in municipal lots behind Browns of Beverly bike shop and on Pond Street.

Summer Reading Kickoff Celebration

Visit the library to sign up for our summer reading program, "Libraries Rock!". Learn how to earn tickets for the Topsfield Fair , pick up your summer reading packet and enjoy some ice cream! Magician and juggler Scott Jameson weaves magic and music together in a spectacular and enthralling magic show. Watch as he makes a giant 1930’s radio vanish in mid-air!  This program is supported by a grant from the Beverly Cultural Council, a local agency, which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

"Summer Sounds" Outdoor Concerts

Summer Sounds, our free outdoor summer concert series featuring local musicians, returns to the main library in July! Join us for the kickoff performance with Love Love Trio . Keep a lookout on the library's website for the full schedule. The series will run through Wednesday, August 22.

June Art: "Naturally" by Ricardo Madonado

An exhibit of vibrant acrylic paintings by Cambridge artist Ricardo Maldonado, based on images of the natural world from various locations around the world, and around his imagination. Ricardo’s generous use of bright colors and light creates a strong feeling of “being there,” surrounded by exotic tropical plants, autumn colors, water or light. Free and open to the public when meetings or programs are not in progress.

A selection of new works in acrylics, oils and pastels by Beverly Farms artist Carmela Martin. Carmela hopes that viewers will connect meaningfully to her work. An " Artist’s Reception" takes place on Thursday, June 7 from 6 - 8 PM . All welcome. 

Adult Book Discussion

New members welcome. This month we're discussing Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis by J. D. Vance. Books may be picked up in advance at the library. Copies may be also available in large print, CD audiobook and digital formats.

Summer Fairy Houses *
