California Film & Television Tax Credit Program 2.0 

Feature Film (independent and non-independent): 

Additional allocation period added; January allocation rescheduled for March 2018
In order to provide more opportunities for feature film applicants, the CFC is adding an application window for the 2017-18 fiscal year in October and moving the third allocation period from January 2018 to March 2018.

Application Period #1:            June 19 - 26, 2017                CAL: July 24, 2017

Application Period #2:            October 16 - 20, 2017           CAL: Nov. 20, 2017

Application Period #3:            March 7-13, 2018                  CAL: April 9, 2018

Remember that once approved, your production will need to begin principal photography within 180 days of the issuance of the Credit Allocation Letter (CAL). With this in mind, please select the application period that best fits your production schedule.

A company may submit a made for television movie during the feature film allocation period if it has a running time of at least 75 minutes, a minimum budget of $1 million dollars and is intended for commercial distribution to a motion picture theater, directly to the home video market, or via the internet.

Applications will be accepted via the on-line portal system during the open allocation period dates as listed above.
