There will be two participant meetings and new entries must attend one of the dates, (returning entries need not attend). Dates for meeting will be given after entry approval.
At the parade, Girl Scouts will assemble as a single entry with Daisys in front followed by each level with all leaders to the rear. Cadettes will skirt the entry to provide safety and flow control.
We hope our volunteers will join us for an exciting day of fun, networking and camaraderie while they participate in learning opportunities that will enhance their skills and knowledge and assist them in building girls of courage, confidence and character. This event is a great chance for leaders to do something for themselves while still impacting their work with girls. Not a troop leader? No problem. Treasure Valley September 2017
Feature Article: Back to Troop!
Greetings From Your Program Department!
We hope you and your girls had a
wonderful summer and are ready for a fun, adventurous year! We know many troops take a break during the summer, so
girls maybe haven't seen their sister Girl Scouts from their troops since school let out. Here are some ideas to get the year off to a great start:
- Host a welcome back party! Have each girl share pictures of her summer fun. Invite all the girls that were in the troop the previous year and challenge them to invite a friend.
- Invite each girl to make a collage of what she would like her year of Girl Scouts to look like and allow them to share these ideas. When planning your year with the girls, use these to build the plan.
- Make sure and check out the new Outdoor and STEM badges and Journeys released this summer! If your Girl Scout would like to do badge work that the troop isn't doing, they can ask their troop leader for assistance with getting information from the VTK. If your Girl Scout is a IRM/Juliette, please contact email@example.com.
- Attend extra Girl Scout activities to get to know more sister Girl Scouts. These could be activities set up by the council office, ones your troop plans or others planned by your service unit.
- Back to troop (back to school) time is the perfect time to hold an Investiture/Rededication ceremony. Include the girls in the planning to make it more special to them.
Remember to read through your Program Chat newsletter (old ones can be found here), and make sure to keep an eye on the activities/events calendar for the latest and greatest activities!
