Dennis Dobrilla, Skipper
Dennis is a fourth generation fisherman who started working on the Pacific Discovery in 1988 as a deckhand. Dennis is experienced in gill-netting, trolling,& seine fishing salmon and gill-netting & seine fishing herring.
Cheryl Lawson, Fish Safe Safety Advisor  
Cheryl started as a Fish Safe Safety Advisor in 2014 and is a 3rd generation fisherman who has been fishing since she was 15. She has trolled, gillnetted, longlined, packed sea urchins and seined over the years. Cheryl has been fishing with the Pacific Discovery for the last 8 years as a beachman and cook.





Ryan Ford, Fish Safe Program Manager  
Ryan joined Fish Safe in 2012. Responsible for safety program delivery and development, Ryan works with a strong team of individuals from the BC commercial fishing industry advancing emergency preparedness throughout the industry. As a CPA, CMA Ryan’s experience in operations and financial management in a broad range of industry environments throughout Canada serves him well as Fish Safe works to advance worker safety within a challenging and ever-changing environment.
