31 Poms, Pekes, Chi's and Shih Tzus - We need your help!
On Saturday, July 21st Castaway Critters, The James A. Hueholt Memorial Foundation for Animals took in 31 puppy mill dogs - one was slipped in for good measure! We were only expecting 30.
Our friends at Pet, Bath and Beyond arranged to manage all the grooming and bathing for the dogs. We were overwhelmed with the fantastic response from groomers as far away as Maryland. Grooming vans and RV's covered the parking lot making it look like a convention. What a great job they did with some very matted, dirty and scared little dogs!
Project Liberty will provide these dogs with a chance for adoption into a loving home.
We now need to make up for the rather large vet bill that comes with a rescue of this size. Bill Forgy is championing a subs, kaiser and pretzel sandwich sale. Orders are due August 12 and delivery date is August 21. If you can help sell or would like to order, email bill at email@example.com. Just one small way you can help even if you can't afford to donate!
Faulkner Fiat is also sponsoring us for a Click for A Dollar donation for one month.

All the Liberty dogs have been vetted and spayed or neutered prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting one of these cute dogs, please apply on our website. You can't miss the great Liberty based names proceeded by an asteric. Many of these dogs are confused and some will barely come out of their carriers at this point. We are hoping that the love and kindness shown by their foster caregivers will change that. One foster said it well, "she seems to feel she has landed on another planet. Soon I hope to convince her that it is a better planet."
Because these dogs have been neglected, there will be veterinary issues that are expensive! If you would like to make a donation to help these dogs, please click the button below or mail your donation to P.O. Box 1421, Harrisburg, PA 17105.
