A WORD FROM TOM
The one emerging theme from our discussion at last week’s Pierce County Outlook is “collaboration.” The Chamber convened business and community leaders to examine the economic outlook of our region, and the consensus is that collaboration is vital. This includes partnerships among the Port of Tacoma, JBLM, Public Safety, and Economic Development. These relationships will propel our region into the future in a positive way.
I wanted to share a couple of key points from our presenters:

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making Pierce County Outlook a success.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS?
With 40% of jobs in Washington State being tied to trade, there is no denying the importance of exports/imports to the South Sound economy. But shouldn't we equally foster the knowledge and ability to produce jobs and wealth through manufacturing our own goods?
