Florida PTA 2012 Elections

 

CLICK BELOW for the list of nominations for the 2013-2015 Florida PTA Executive Committee. Per the Florida PTA Bylaws, nominations may also be made from the floor and the Policies and Procedures lay out the following guidelines for making nominations from the floor:

Nominations from the floor will be handled in the following manner:
  • A minimum of 30 days notice (on or before June 13, 2012 at 12:00 Noon) will be given from date of convention. 
  • Bio must be sent with written notification to the Nominating Committee Chair for presentation at Convention. 
Until such time that a nomination is made from the floor, NO Campaign material of any type can be distributed at any time prior to the close of the business meeting at which the nomination has been made from the floor. Campaign material shall be limited to a one page 8.5" X 11" sheet.

Please note that nominations are not in order for the "president" position, as the current president elect automatically becomes president, having been elected in November 2010.

2013-2015 Florida PTA President  

 

Eileen Segal

  

Eileen Segal currently serves as President Elect. She has served as Vice President of Leadership, Vice President for Regions & Councils, Region 7 Representative, served on the Legislative Committee, Nominating Committee, Website Committee, Resource Development Committee, Florida Convention Committee 2004, State and Local Relationships Committee and is currently advisor to the Membership Committee.  Eileen has attended the National PTA Emerging Minority Leadership Training and is Common Core Initiative and BSP trained.

 

On the county level, she served as North Miami Beach Feeder Pattern Vice President, Region II Coordinator, Vice President for Local units, Vice President for Advocacy and President and as Parent Representative for the District EESAC. She currently is the chair for Miami Dade Public Schools Family & Community Involvement Advisory Community.

 

On the local level,  she was President, First VP, Second VP, Corresponding Secretary at the elementary level; President , First VP, Red Ribbon Committee Chair and EESAC member at the middle school level and Executive board member, EESAC member at the high school level.

 

She holds honorary Life memberships from National PTA and Florida PTA. She also has a brick on the Florida PTA Walk of Fame.  Eileen has a degree from Miami Dade College Allied Health Program in Physical Therapy and a real estate license. She is from Miami Beach, Florida.  Eileen is married to her high school sweetheart William for 37 years. They have two sons Jeremy, married to Stacey and Richard engaged to Shani. Besides her passion for PTA and children, she loves animals especially her grand-dog Biggie Smalls Segal.
