Update on Food Waste

Last year, Provision released a report which provided excellent insight and recommendations on sector-based solutions to the food waste problem. Provision's two Food Waste Working Groups met in the spring and provided direction to develop a Made in Canada Food Waste Solutions Tool Kit and lead a food waste pilot project. For more information or to participate in the next food waste meeting on September 22, 2015, contact Meena Hassanali at mhassanali@provisioncoalition.com or 519.822.2042.

Advocacy Update

Members will be familiar with the resources Provision has allocated to monitoring Environment Canada and Health Canada's Chemical Management Plan Initiative. This process was initiated to help the food and beverage industry understand its exposure to the list of substances being reviewed and also to better understand the potential impacts to industry. Brief 9 and Brief 10 are now available.
