March 22, 2017

We are very excited to announce that New York Times best-selling author Daniel Silva has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 12 as part of our author lecture series! Silva is renowned for his thriller and espionage novels including "The Unlikely Spy," "Moscow Rules," "The Heist," and his most recent release, "The Black Widow."

It's no surprise here. Our patrons know some good reads! Featured this month are the Top 10 Most Anticipated titles available NOW, as selected by our patrons. From the page-turning thrillers of Stuart Woods, to the mystery sagas of James Patterson and the romantic fantasies of Nora Roberts, our patrons have been waiting and wishing for these novels. Enjoy!

Welcome spring and take advantage of the last few days of the library's "Luck of the Draw" DVD program! Similar to "Blind Date with a Book", this program allows patrons to select a mystery DVD based on its description, Check It Out, take it home and enjoy! The program will run through the end of March, so risk the "Luck of the Draw" and see what's waiting at the end of the rainbow!

Join the Avalon History Center for its April lecture featuring landscape architect Scott Taylor, who designed many of Avalon's public and community spaces. Taylor will present on the planning and construction of Veterans Plaza, the 9/11 Memorial and the 39th Street playground, plus announce a new and exciting initiative coming soon for Avalon!
