On Tuesday night the Eugene City Council and the Lane County Board of Commissioners heard from members of the public at a joint public hearing on adoption of Eugene's urban growth boundary (UGB). On Tuesday members of the public provided oral testimony before the Eugene City Council and the Lane County Board of Commissioners. This was the last public hearing on adoption of Eugene's UGB. Generally speaking, the testimony provided at the hearing was supportive of the proposal, including the proposed expansion areas, and the Envision Eugene public process that started in 2010. Some of the concerns raised were about ensuring there is enough land for housing, addressing the impacts of development, and further work that needs to be done once the UGB is adopted.
