Dances of Universal Peace (Sufi dances)-Saturday Dec. 8th from 7:00-9:00pm

Dances of Universal Peace are easily learned spiritual folk dances from all traditions, with gentle movements that even 'non-dancers' can greatly enjoy.  Singing sacred, ancient phrases creates a full body healing vibration, and when conscious movement is added, these become powerful spiritual practices.  Each dance will be fully taught, no experience is necessary.  These are interactive and participatory, not a performance.

Donation $3 to $10    call Amara at 808-982-6755  for more info.

Intention:

A ten day community driven festival with the focus of creating opportunities for local communities and individuals to share their unique gifts and collaborate in the spirit of selfless service.

By promoting the awareness of a diverse range of community projects within Puna, we encourage community interaction resulting in the sharing of culture, resources, talent, food, products, wellness services, natural resources, education, entertainment, and celebration, resulting in a more unified greater community.

Only the first and last days of the festival will be produced by Gift Culture, while the days between 12/12 and 12/21 are open for special events to be hosted by the community. We are now accepting proposals from community members and organizations who would like to host special events during the dates of 12/13-12/20.

Note that these community hosted events will create the bulk of the festival, and as events are added to the program, they will be added to the online festival schedule as well. This festival is not possible without community involvement and dedication. If you have an idea or offering, feel free to contact

La'akea
Social Permaculture Day at Laakea on 12/17/2012

La'akea Intentional Community, Pahoa

We are a small, family style, egalitarian, intentional permaculture community on the big island of Hawai'i. Come join us for a day of vibrant immersion in our community lifestyle!

We are a committed group of people working together closely as a means to health, relationship vitality, economic stability, personal and spiritual growth. We integrate the social aspects of sustainability into daily life: how to live together with honesty, love and peace, and share power and leadership.  We do not have one central leader, but instead share the cost of the land and the leadership equally.

This day will give a sampling of some of the ways we relate to the land and each other, all led by very experienced teachers.  This is a great time to come meet our members, ask questions about community and get a peek into our daily life.

Come for one event, or all day!  See the Details below for full descriptions of the events and teachers.

The Really, Really Free Market (RRFM)
is a free COMMUNITY BUILDING gathering representing the Gift Economy where all are encouraged to give, receive, and create on their own terms without the expectation of payment. It holds as a major goal to build a community based on sharing resources, caring for one another and improving the collective lives of all.

The RRFM, as opposed to the Not-So-Free Free Market, breaks down the myth of scarcity and encourages us to take advantage of the abundance all around us.

It's like a potluck: everyone brings something and leaves with more. We all have , skills, ideas, resources, MUSIC, smiles, talents/performances, crafts, games, plants, discussions, useable items, and many other things to share..If we bring them together at the REALLY REALLY FREE MARKET, we can provide more balanced and full lives for us all! The most beautiful aspect of this event is to witness the friendships blossom and the community growing together!!  Join their Facebook Group
