"What day is it?" "It's today," squeaked Piglet.
"My favorite day," said Pooh.  A.A. Milne

Pure Joy
This is my son, John, at about seven years old. We had been fishing and catching crawdads at Incline Lake, Nevada, where my aunt and uncle lived for thirty years. The lake was at 8,000 feet, so was fairly cold.

I love this picture not only because it reminds me forever of that wonderful time in our lives, but also because it captures that awesome moment after the jump and before the splash.

These are the kind of moments we always remember, and yet in the hurry of work and daily life we forget to plan for them. Of course, we can't draw up moments like this on command, but we can plan for time with our kids and grandkids that allow moments like this to happen.

To create memories that last a lifetime, we need to take a little time off and enjoy the ride or, in some cases, fly through the air.
