TRADITIONAL-STYLE KABBALAT SHABBAT
Friday, February 9, 7pm
With Rabbinic Intern SAM  Luckey, Talya Husbands-Hankin & Frances  Kreimer, Fireside Room. A more traditional  davenning style of Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma'ariv,
the Shabbat evening service, songful and in  Hebrew, following the full liturgy. Kiddush and  light oneg after the service. Sponsored by Kehilla  and Glitter Kehilla.
SHABBAT MORNING SERVICE

With Rabbi David and Julie Nesnansky.  We will be looking at some of the laws that involve capital punishment and how those laws have been reinterpreted and circumvented in the Talmud and over the centuries. UN EXPERT DESCRIBES OAKLAND HOMELESS CRISIS AS CRUEL -  DONATE BLANKETS & MORE
Talya Husbands-Hankin was among a group that led a United Nations reporter to local homeless encampments. The East Bay Express recently reported on the UN expert's findings. H elp Talya support our homeless population survive the winter by donating blankets, tarps, tents, warm jackets, pants & men's socks to be distributed to homeless folks in the area. Please fill the box in the lobby up with listed items only, from 9-5pm. Talya will pick up the items periodically and deliver them to people who need them. Questions?  jeanne.finberg@gmail.com

ANNUAL LEARNER'S SERVICE

Our annual come-and-learn about the Shabbat morning service is open to all. We will learn the choreography of the service, explore the meanings of the pr ayers, and learn why the service follows the order that it does. Please bring something to share for a potluck lunch. An improvisational performance by Stagebridge Playback Theater, based on the stories of refugees and immigrants. One refugee from Uganda will tell her or his story, which will be "played back" by the actors. Others from the audience will have an opportunity to share their immigration stories as well. Living Space Needed
One of our accompaniment teams is working with a young couple from Guatemala who need to rent a room/living space in the East Bay, ideally starting in February or March. They are able to afford $500-700 per month. It would be a mitzvah if you could accommodate them. WHITE WOMEN: CHALLENGE YOURSELF AND WHITE SUPREMACY 
New White Awake groups start February 11- June 24, 6-9pm, 2nd + 4th Sundays in Oakland. I nter-generational 5-month study, skill-building and action group for  white  women, straight, queer, lesbian, and trans, to grow as racial justice activists.  Co-led by Kehilla member Rochelle Towers.

Earn It! Keep It! Save It! (EKS) is a coalition of Bay Area organizations that provide free tax preparation to households earning less than $54,000 a year. United Way Bay Area partners with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), nonprofits, and other organizations to scale the free tax preparation effort across the region. LEARN MORE>
