Change in date for Quebec City event:
Please note that our next event in Quebec City at the Cercle de la Garnison will be held on March 16th rather than March 9th as announced previously. We had to move the date given March break on the week of the 6th which would have prevented many members from attending.
Please enter March 16, 2017 on your agenda.
WELCOME TO 4 NEW MEMBERS:
A good occasion to welcome 4 new members:

Sylvie Desjardins from the Jacques Desjardins Agency was not able to join us that evening, therefore your regional coordinator took it upon himself to present her with her member`s plaque on another occasion.

WOLSELEY OYSTER EVENING:
I had the chance to participate in the annual oyster evening held by Wolseley on October 26th. There, I had the pleasure of meeting Elyse Charbonneau (Owner of Plomberie et Chauffage Lachine) and Maryse Poirier (administrative assistant at Wolseley).
Your board members would like to wish you all a wonderful holiday season and a very happy New Year 2017!!
DECEMBER EVENT: A GREAT SUCCESS!!!
We had decided this year to hold our December 6th event at Club St-James after 14 years at Molson Brewery. There was a certain risk in changing venues but our bet paid off with 138 attending.
During the evening, we honoured pioneers such as Luc Meunier, Daniel Robichaud, and Michel Brunet, with over five years of volunteering for our association and over 25 years of experience in the industry. Sylvie and Serge Montminy as well as Adolpho Poce marked over 40 years of involvement in the sector. Quite a feat!
In 2017, we will be getting even more involved in issues such as hydronics. We will also approach training establishments so that their students are aware of our association and know its members. Also in the making is the MCEE exhibition on April 26th and 27th: I encourage you to inform the people you know so they can participate in great numbers.
To close, let me wish you on the part of all our board members a very merry holiday season and an excellent year in 2017.
QUEBECKERS ARE A HAPPY LOT!
At the Quebec division of the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating, the traditional holiday get-together is sacred and what an event it is! The 2016 edition was held at the St. James Club in Montréal for the first time this year. The regional team extended a warm welcome to National Chair Bill Palamar and CEO Ralph Suppa. A hundred smiles illuminated the hall all-decked up for the occasion, with downtown Montreal offering a living and scintillating backdrop from the expansive windows. The coordinator of the event, Claude Robitaille, was all too happy to have this festive ambiance to mark the years of service of some members of our industry.
The traditional conference was given by renowned journalist and economist Alain Dubuc. Mr. Dubuc gave an overview of the national and world economies to better explain the issues and anticipate the future. In the short term, the recent American elections have given rise to different scenarios, which will play out in the coming months and years. Beyond productivity (a key element according to Mr. Dubuc) and the creation of wealth, he underlined two aspects where Canada has a head start, all in keeping with the spirit of the holidays: "The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has ranked Canada in the Top 5 of its quality of life index while the United Nations has done the same on its happiness index,
h Chicoutimi taking top honours. Some figures don't lie at least!
